Therapy that holds
the whole you
For people who sense their difficulties have a deeper dimension - and are ready for support that goes beneath the surface.

What it is

Beyond the presenting problem

Most therapy focuses on what's wrong and how to manage it. That's valuable — but it's not always the whole picture. Transpersonal counselling holds a wider view. It acknowledges that you are more than your history, your symptoms, and your thought patterns. You are also a person in search of meaning, of connection, of a life that feels genuinely yours.

The word transpersonal means "beyond the personal" — it points to the dimensions of experience that conventional therapy doesn't always make room for: questions of purpose and identity, spiritual experience, the sense that something in you is trying to emerge that hasn't yet had the conditions to do so.

This isn't therapy that bypasses the hard work. It's therapy that does the hard work and holds the larger question alongside it.

Healing isn't only about reducing what hurts. Sometimes it's about expanding into what you were always capable of becoming.

Who It's For

You might be in the right place if…

You've tried conventional therapy and found it helpful — but something important still feels untouched.

You're searching for meaning or purpose, particularly after loss, collapse, or a major life transition.

You are highly sensitive, intuitive, or spiritually aware — and want a therapist who won't pathologise that.

You're navigating a spiritual crisis, questioning long-held beliefs, or feeling disconnected from your own inner life.

You feel things deeply and want support that honours depth rather than managing it down.

You sense that something in you is trying to change — but you don't yet have the conditions or language for it.

What to Expect

What sessions look like

A transpersonal-informed session at Zanti doesn't follow a fixed script. It follows you — your pace, your material, what's alive and what needs space. Depending on what you're working with, sessions might draw on:

  • Guided imagery and visualisation to access what's held below the surface

  • Dreamwork, symbolism, and archetypal exploration

  • Mindfulness and body-awareness practices

  • Reflective writing and creative approaches as pathways to insight

  • EMDR for trauma processing where relevant

  • Schema Therapy for exploring core beliefs and relational patterns

  • Unhurried conversation that makes room for the questions without forcing the answers

These approaches are offered when they fit — not imposed as a programme. You don't need to arrive with clarity about what you need. That can be worked out together.

A Note on Grounded Spirituality

Not mystical. Not reductive. Both.

Transpersonal work can drift badly when it becomes a way of avoiding real psychological work — dressing difficult material in spiritual language without actually touching it. That's not what this is.

Good transpersonal therapy is grounded. It can sit with grief, trauma, and the full weight of being human — and it can also hold the moments of expansion, meaning, and genuine inner shift that are equally part of the picture. It doesn't choose between the psychological and the spiritual. It holds both.

No particular belief is required. This work is open to anyone who wants a therapy that doesn't flatten the full range of their experience.

The Therapist

How I work

I'm Karie — counsellor, psychotherapist, and EMDR practitioner at Zanti. My approach is integrative and relational, drawing on transpersonal principles alongside evidence-based therapies. I hold a Master of Counselling & Psychotherapy and am registered with PACFA.

The people who find their way to Zanti are often those who feel things deeply, who appear more capable on the outside than they feel on the inside, and who are ready for something that goes beneath the surface. I'm genuinely interested in your particular story — not a version of it that fits neatly into a diagnostic category.

I work with warmth and directness. I'll ask real questions, notice things, and be honest with you about what I see — because that kind of honesty tends to be more useful than careful reassurance.

Sessions are available in person in Adelaide CBD and online across Australia.
